Panniers

Our pannier/backpacks are made of 600D polyester, which is a naturally water resistant material. However, for additional protection, we would recommend adding our rain cover to protect the contents of your bag.

We offer free shipping with all purchases over CAD$100. If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase or notice a manufacturing defect, you may return the bag to us within 30 days for a full refund or exchange to:

The Slide-Rack

Yes! Our installation instructions offer a variety of configurations that should still permit you to mount other panniers on the rails of your pannier rack.

Depending on the width of your pannier rack, you may be able to mount another pannier on the opposite rail at the same time as your Bailey Co. bag is mounted. For more narrow racks, you may only be able to mount one bag at a time.

The good news is that the Slide-Rack has been successfully mounted on "rat-trap" pannier racks, which are pannier racks with a spring-loaded panel to hold down light cargo. However, in most cases, this will mean the spring-loaded element of the rat-trap will no longer be functional.

This really depends on the size and shape of front pannier rack. We recommend rear pannier racks, as they tend to be no more than 14cm wide, and at least the length of the bag, which runs approximately 34cm. Reach out to us if you have a particular pannier rack in mind (with a product link if possible) and we will do our best to let you know if it will fit: hello@baileyco.ca. We also have a 30-day return period in case it does not work out.

With a bit of ingenuity, the answer is yes! You will need a block of 2" wood that will fit in between the Slide-Rack mounts. Then place your load on top of the block, and strap into place. With enough tension, the block will stay in place, and will ensure the Slide-Rack mounts are not bent under the weight of your load.

A pannier rack, pictured below, is a metal bicycle part that is typically attached to the rear frame of the bicycle above the rear tire. It often is attached on either side of the rear wheel axel and near the frame underneath the bicycle seat . There are also front pannier racks commonly sold. Pannier racks can be used to mount baskets, have loads strapped to them, or most commonly, their "rails" are used for mounting panniers.

The Slide-Rack is two sets of brackets that mount on top of the pannier rack. It allows Bailey Co. bags to slide on and off the pannier rack, without requiring metal hardware on the bag itself to allow it to clip to the "rails".
